We Move U

DO NOT USE!! I rarely write reviews, and I can't take back the poor decision I made by choosing this company, but if this helps someone in the future, then it's worth it.

This was a NIGHTMARE experience that started off as poor customer service and worsened to many missing items and ZERO response.

The sales guys (Johnny J.) are great at getting you in, easy to start with, etc. But then when it comes to fixing problems or providing the expected customer service, they are useless and full of BS excuses.

The organization and communication with this "company" is horrendous. They don't respond to emails, they schedule times and dates and then cancel them. I received notices of pickup and delivery at the last minute with no prior communication. There seems to be only one person (Daisy) handling dispatch or questions, who is either overloaded with work or just incompetent. Either way, don't expect what normally passes as customer service or responsiveness or basic courtesy.

Prior to delivery, I sent a list of complaints and received no response. After a HORRIBLE experience with delivery, and realizing that many of my things were completely missing or damaged, I again reached out several times by phone and email, and no one responded or answered, or called back after messages. The guy who unloaded my truck basically forced me to sign papers before unloading, and then completely ignored me when I asked about items that were missing. I know I was not smart by signing first, but I was scared I'd never see my things, and I was most definitely taken advantage of.

I wont even get into damages on my things, or the state of the items crammed and stacked into the huge truck. People's lives and trust are in there, and there is absolutely no regard for that.

What's most appalling is that someone should at least answer my enquiries or TRY to figure out what happened to my sentimental and valuable things. That doesn't exist, and they cannot call themselves a legitimate business.

In short DO NOT USE this company, and be very smart and meticulous about anyone you choose.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1100

To say I am upset about this move is an understatement.    1. We used because you were "family owned" and it was supposed to be a "personal" experience - Michele over committed and over sold. 2. You were the most expensive quote we got but we liked you a a felt we could trust this company.. and they would pack my kitchen - BUT they did not wrap a single item and over a dozen things showed up broken.  3. The movers were two hours late and I had to call you to see where they were. 4. I am paying an additional $500 because the furniture  went over some line in the truck.  5. I land in Charlotte and call "customer service" and spoke to Whitney. She was short with me and said she could send an email to the driver and that it could take up to 21 days. You told us 2-7 business days- this is absurd. Whitney said she was the manager and I could file a complaint- which I am prepared to do..   I am not sure how in 2015 you aren't using gps on your trucks. My whole life is on a truck and NO ONE can tell me where it is or when I will get it.    The movers show up in NC and demand more money because of stairs when Michele said IN WRITING via an e-mail she would waive that fee but never put it in the contract.    I am unpacking and most furniture is damaged and over 12 things are broken.    I call and no one is helpful. I cannot get a manager on the phone and this company does not care because they have their money.. I am left with family heirloms shattered and my furnirture beat up. .

A coworker recommended this company and I am so glad I selected them as our movers! My husband got a job transfer and this was a huge move for our family. It is amazing how much STUFF you accumulate over the years, and how attached you get to that stuff! I was a little hesitant about trusting this company to safely transport all of this stuff across state lines, but they far surpassed my expectations. They showed up on time, were super polite and efficient, safely transported everything without damaging a single item, and even came back the next day after the move to help us rearrange some heavy furniture (at no extra charge). I was so impressed. I offer my highest recommendation for this company! Use them - you won’t go wrong.

We moved from NY to SC and shopped around and read reviews etc. We were very excited to find this company because of so many great reviews and the great price. Johnny, one of the salesman, and my fiancé got along wonderfully on the phone to the point they had conversations about hunting,
What it was like where we were moving and such. We were told by Daisy that we would get a call on Monday to confirm our Tuesday pickup time. Well Daisy called on Thursday or Friday to try to move up our move date by 3 days which we just couldn’t do. Late Monday we were told they would be there first thing WEDNESDAY AM(knowing we had to be in SC to pick up keys at 9am Friday). So after having to stay in a hotel because all our belongings were packed and we had gotten rid of our beds, we show back up to our house bright and early. We then received a call stating that they’d be a little late which we completely understood because it was snowing quite a bit. A little later meant 2:30pm apparently. When they FINALLY arrived, the movers themselves were very friendly, fast and courteous. Johnny told us our belongings would be delivered ASAP(this is also what is written on our contract unfortunately )because Christmas was about a week and a half away and the movers wanted to be home in time for the holiday. GREAT!!
We called mid week to find out when we could expect them and were told that Daisy would call us back. That didn’t happen. So we waited a day or two and called Johnny. He said that Daisy just left the office for the day and she’d call us back. Nothing. So we called the day after only for another young lady to tell us Daisy hadn’t been in the office at all. But she let us know our belongings were being loaded onto the truck as we spoke! YAY I CAN COOK OR PUT MY HOUSE TOGETHER OR CLIP MY NAILS WITH MY CLIPPERS PACKED IN WITH MY BELONGINGS!! The next day we waited for our call about the delivery time, BUT OBVIOUSLY NO ONE WANTED TO TALK TO US!! When we finally get a hold of someone, we’retold that the “jets” went on their truck(my fiancé is a mechanic, good try) and they had to get it fixed. The next phone call was about the weather. I double checked, NJ(the movers are based there) and NYC(company is based there) both looked clear according the National Weather reports and here in SC it was sunny, bright and in the 70’s. So again, a call to Daisy with no luck. Johnny swears he’s going to call us back, that he will “personally handle our call back”. Nothing. So we call him and find out he wasn’t even in the office yesterday. BUT BUT after picking up our belongings on December 13th and today being December 28th, the driver, Juan called to say he’d be here at 5pm. Then another call to say he’d be here at 8:30pm. It’s now 9:03pm and no sign of Juan or my belongings. At this point I’m just praying they are all in one piece and working. My belongings, that is.
As of 10:28pm my belongings are all finally here, delivered by ONE MAN, Juan, who was wonderful and friendly. He seemed slightly embarrassed however to be delivering 8 of 68 damaged boxes, 2 of which were severely damaged. We have taken photos of all the boxes(all uhaul boxes that we move u recommend we use) and taking inventory then will see if anything in the boxes is damaged.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU ARE SERIOUSLY DESPERATE!! Obviously many people have had good experiences with them and that’s wonderful but between my experience and the other poor ratings, it seems to be becoming a trend. Pay the extra money for a bigger company, if you do use this company, make sure they give you an EXACT date for your delivery, NOT ASAP or depend on their “word”, it’s obvious that their word means nothing. And while Johnny is super nice he obviously has ZERO control over what’s actually going on.
This is why people go with “big box” stores and companies. These smaller family owned ones start to branch out and people stop caring.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1600

Look at the pictures. Filed a claim with BBB and speaking with a lawyer.
Three legs broken off the coffee table, boxes were untaped and opened, suitcases ripped, hole punched in the back of the bookshelf, items (books and clothes) damp, furniture padding torn so everything was scratched, one of my boxes had been opened, everything removed, and then dumped into a different box that they company owned. Customer service told me that was unacceptable and against protocol and then did nothing.

Almost all of my boxes had been untaped and/or opened.

I had to call them repeatedly, daily, for nearly a month just to get the claims form and have been told for almost two weeks they were emailing me a refund for an additional charge "soon" "this week" "today" and I still have not received it. They do not respond or follow up once you sign a contract. It was difficult to contact the driver despite being guaranteed a 72 and 24 hour notice before he arrived. He kept telling me he wasn't sure when he'd come until the third day of texting when he said he'd be at the house in a few hours with no prior warning.

Pick up team was great. Nobody else was. The company told me they'd be in contact when my items shipped from the depot. I got a call two days later with a "maybe" they were leaving today and I'd hear back by the end of the day. I didn't so then I called everyday until I got ahold of someone who told me they still hadn't shipped which was over a week from when they were picked up.

The sales woman told me repeatedly it would arrive in 10-14 days. We spoke 3+ times about the delivery date and even pushed back the pick-up date she was so confident in this estimate. Took 20 days, 1 day less than the legally required time they needed to arrive.

Sales woman also told me that the street I lived on was fine and wouldn't need a shuttle service. We discussed it several times and she confirmed twice that the street would accept the truck. Customer service told me a week later (once I'd signed and things were picked up) that there was "always" going to be a shuttle fee so they were sorry for the "confusion." They obviously had the delivery address the entire time but didn't communicate there would be a charge until the items had shipped, I had signed a contract and paid. The truck came and then they charged me an additional $350. I was only told of this fee a couple of days in advance of delivery, meaning over two weeks after my stuff had been picked up.

I called the saleswoman and she told me to "be sweet" to the driver to see if he would remove the charge. That's the only help I got was to be "really nice and ask" him to not charge me for a service that I was told I wouldn't need. I wouldn't have chosen the company had I known it would be $350 more than the estimate especially because apparently they knew the whole time. I paid under protest and am in a BBB investigation and waiting to see if they follow through on anything to have to take it further.

When I complained that my boxes had been opened (taped removed entirely or sliced open) they originally were very upset and said it was unacceptable. After two weeks of calling and not being responded to I got a very brief email that the driver said the boxes ripped because they were too heavy and did not address that they had been illegally opened and items removed. Frustrating since everybody assured me that this was unacceptable and continually brought up financial compensation and then stopped answering me suddenly.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $1735

Through the quote process I was happy with We move u - the customer service was great. However that all changed once they picked up our stuff. I called several times prior to adjust the amount of stuff we had. I had every box counted and measured. As far as furniture, they reassured me over and over that they didn't need exact measurements. Once the truck was packed, I was informed that exact measurements did matter and I was way over and going to be charged that overage at a ridiculously high rate. The guy in charge (Anthony) was extremely aggressive and hostile when I questioned the overage. He was also livid that I wanted to pay the half up front with a credit card, which we move u had said was totally fine.
I was called 5 days after pick up (Wednesday) and told that they would be delivering our stuff the following day. The day of expected delivery we never heard from anyone. After calling the driver several times, he finally called me back Friday and explained that his truck had caught on fire and there would be a delay. He needed to take his truck to a garage to be fixed, was renting a box truck and hoped to deliver to us Saturday. All day Saturday passed with no word and finally at 9pm the driver called to ask if we would accept delivery at 1am on Sunday. I explained that this was not ideal but if necessary we would take the delivery. He then said he would deliver by noon Sunday. Sunday at around 2pm a crew of two in a box truck arrived with our belongings.
They struggled to carry our stuff, constantly needing to sit down. We were worried that one would have a heart attack so we offered to help. As they brought our stuff in, we started opening boxes and found that a lot of it was broken. All of our vintage china was smashed - as if someone had driven over it. It seemed every box we opened was in the same shape. They had also broken the legs off our hutch and the legs they removed from our bookcase to keep from breaking, never arrived. The table top glass that was packed by itself to avoid breakage never showed up either. Our bike that we paid extra to move, never arrived. Boxes and boxes of CDs never arrived - NOT ONE! The xbox never arrived either. They lost pieces of our bed frame and our new mattress which had been bagged for protection looked like it had been driven over as well. When I asked the driver about all of this he simply said that he had never seen a bike and for me to call we move u. He also informed me that he did not work for we move u and was simply contracted to deliver our belongings which was contradictory to what we move u told me. we move u told me in the beginning that they do not contract jobs and do their own deliveries.
When I called we move u, they (Mare) told me to file a claim. So much of our stuff was missing or stolen and she said just file a claim. She told me that if our belongings were in the warehouse that they would find them and deliver them. It has been 4 months today and I have heard nothing. How do you misplace a bike?
We believe that our stuff was stolen.
And the customer service we received upon hiring them is now non-existent.

Best moving experience ever.They were very friendly and professional. They were respectful of our things, and took very good care of them. The best part was when it came time to unload our belongings, they put it right were we wanted them. (even if we changed our minds several times). They were all polite and professional from the manager to the movers. They showed up on time and made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it before they left. These movers were the fastest hardest workers I've seen! They did a great job and were very careful and meticulous! I would highly recommend them to anyone!

I moved from New York to Florida recently and had no experience with movers. I had a bit of a smaller budget to work with which didn't give me lots of options. I was really skeptical and afraid of being taken advantage of. After calling around several different places I found these guys and they were able to stay just below my budget at $3685. Very reasonable!

I have a slipped disc so I could only do very little to help, these guys took care of everything!! It was a easy, smooth move and they took very good care of my family's heirloom furniture.

Thanks to the crew and our friend who recommended it. 2 men with truck came for our moving. We moved from NY to Hoboken, NJ 5th floor apartment without elevator. Though we were happy getting good apartment in NJ, the move scared us, but 'WE MOVE U' people made it a breeze. They packed our furniture carefully in the blankets and got the boxes for our clothes, we are able to move the hanged items as it is, I just have to transfer boxed clothes to closets, It was easy job for me afterwards. It was 2 more boxes extra, than quoted, due to small stuff around. But they didn't charge extra amount of money, we tipped them,as we were very happy with this move. They also helped us in removing the blankets around the furniture after moving. To my surprise, they unloaded very quickly within 2 hours from truck to the apartment which is on 5th floor.

We initially talked to another moving company also with high reviews. They estimated close to 9hrs of work. But this team only takes less than half of the time! And with lower hourly rate! Amazing!! My husband and I are very happy with their service. They are very very FAST and professional.They made quick work of moving all our stuff from storage back to our house. Next time I move (hopefully never, God willing), they'll be my first call. I highly recommend them.. Highly recommended!

Last summer I used We Move U to move my mother from NYC to Florida and I was very impressed.  Mike and company were very communicative and helped make planning and scheduling the move easier. The crew of guys showed up on time they were careful and efficient in wrapping furniture and packing the truck.

A few days after the initial move out - I met the crew at my mother's new place in Naples. Once again they arrived in the window of time the dispatcher promised me.  The crew went right to work unpacking the truck and placing boxes furniture etc where I wanted it - and helping me with assembly.  This was one of the easier moves I've done - I highly recommend We Move You.

A few weeks ago I was so happy when I closed out on my new apartment in New York. Of course, my happiness did not last long when I realized that now came the hard part which was moving from NJ to NY.
My friend recommended We Move U which he used to also move from NJ to NY. I called them up and they were very thorough in going everything that would be needed from packing materials to what was being moved. I received a competitive quote and went to 2 other companies which were more expensive.
I decided to go with We Move U and I am so happy. They day of the move the crew showed up early as promised and got to work right away. They were very good in following my instructions in how to handle some of the more fragile items that I have. They also brought a truck big enough so we could do the move in one trip.
A soon as the truck was packed up they took everything to my new address in New York City quickly and efficiently. The only thing that slowed us down was the traffic on the GW Bridge. After we arrived, they diligently began to take everything upstairs into the apartment and placing each box in the place I labeled it to go in.
Overall, I am very satisfied and would recommend them to anyone moving from New Jersey to New York.

I spoke with Steve to negotiate a contract for my daughters move from DC to Charleston. He personally promised me that 'I'll take care of her'. Let me tell you what taking care of her means; 1) they called and instead of a Friday move, they were now coming on Sunday. I had to call Steve back and have him review his notes again as I had fully documented that it was to have been a Friday. Only have he checked he noticed he made an error but that they would keep the date, 2) the movers, after knowing the logistics of the street which is a one-way and tight, could note fit the truck (as we told them it would be) and they had to unload on a busy street, dropped several items for which we will have to put in a claim and 'lost' a trunk with all her clothes.3) took them 2 weeks to find it and make arrangements for delivery..but it gets better..told her that she had to drive to meet them to pick it up..why? ..because they couldn't get the truck into Charleston. So she had to drive to pick it up and spent 2 hours of her time because of their mistakes. I would absolutely NOT recommend this company as they failed to live up to their promise of 'taking care of her'.

WARNING STAY AWAY
We scheduled a move with We Move You inc from Virginia to Texas. Jeff set everything up and was polite and helpful. But that's where it ends. Our move was set to happen the 25th to 26th. The day before someone named Daisy calls us to say they can't make it until the 30th. (We had told Jeff we were leaving the house the 27th) we tell her that won't work.
Daisy calls us back the same day assuring us they would now make it in time. But she couldn't give me a time frame. She said she would get back to me in an hour. She never did. I tried calling the 800 number mutltiple times trying to get a human to talk to but only got voice mails. She calls us the morning of the 25th the day they are going to show up! And says they won't make it until the weekend.
After a lot of calling. I get them to tell me they will give me a solid date in an hour. That didn't happen instead three hours later daisy sends me a text I will have a date and time for you shortly. Two hours later nothing. We have gone with a different company. We have been told last minute they can't help us. They broke their contract. And We Move You Inc has put my wife in I in a position of urgency and having to spend more money then we originally thought to get to Texas on time with our stuff. They treated us terribly and I would not recommend them to anyone. I don't know how they are BBB accredited if this is how they treat their customers. STAY AWAY


Daisy also gave us numbers to the owner but she just gave us Jeff's number thinking we wouldn't figure that out.
What a complete waste of time with no respect or regard their contract. Needles to stay I warn you to not do business here. And stay away.
At least they gave us our deposit back.

I was referred by a friend and used We Move U when I moved from Virginia to New York. I was nervous being that it was my first time moving, but they made everything as smooth as possible. I sat back and let them handle everything which was easy to do because they were so reliable and communicative with me. Any time I had questions, I could expect a response within a reasonable time frame. They were also punctual and the price was very affordable ($1875) My biggest fear was with my fragile objects but they took care of my furniture as if it were their own. Everything arrived in perfect condition.

This was my first real big move with a professional moving company. I am a busy professional and needed to find a reputable company that I could trust with my possessions. After reading the reviews, I decided to use We Move U. They did not disappoint. The move could not have gone more perfectly. The crew was professional and did a great job. They disassembled and reassembled my bedroom furniture as well as handled my property with care. They are experts at what they do and it shows. I had a great experience overall.

I just recently moved to Colorado from California to relocate with my job(I know, it's quite a climate change). I was relieved to find We Move U to help me with my first BIG move somewhere new. I looked around at other companies before I went We Move U and I'm sure glad I picked them. The movers were very professional and arrived on time. And when they met up with me in Colorado, all of my belongings were with them and in one piece. They made my move so easy and stress-free for me. I will definitely recommend! If I ever have to relocate again, or if I just feel like a change of scenery, We Move U will be the people I call.

This company conducted a local move for me, and I felt pretty comfortable with them after the initial estimate. Customer service was professional, and they worked with me on delivery dates despite my somewhat rigid schedule.
They were not the cheapest, but were far from the most expensive, offering a great value for a professional service. The move was completed without incident, and It was a big help to not have to move the items myself!
Overall I am pleased with this company and would consider using them again if I need to move in the future.

When it comes to moving, I've always been a do-it-yourselfer. I was hesitant, but those feelings were quickly erased when I met the kind folks at We Move U. I chose this outfit because of their strong reviews and growing, glowing reputation. They handled my livelihood with care and professionalism. East Coast traffic can be a nightmare, but they arrived on time for both the load in and take out--with smiles and willingness to go the extra mile. These people know what they are doing.

I hate moving but We Move U made it as painless as possible. This was the first time I hired a professional company to move me. I'm usually the guy who gets a bunch of friends together with pizza and beer and throws out his back for 2 weeks moving a sofa. That wasn't possible this time as I was moving out of state. So I did my research and We Move U had a great track record and a was affordable. Their pricing was fair, they don't nickel and dime you, and they were pleasant to work with. They showed up on time, were gentle with my belongings, and they arrived on time with all of my stuff in one piece. I highly recommend them if you want to take some of the stress out of moving.

First time using movers, and We Move U exceeded my expectations. They showed up on time, disassembled some furniture, and had things ready quickly. They were also surprisingly diligent and careful with my belongings. The move was quick and painless. All of my belongings arrived in the same condition they were in before the move. Not to mention, the price was reasonable.

If I move again, I'll be using We Move U once again, and I highly recommend them to anyone needing help with moving.

We Move U provided me with a great move. As stressful as moving can be they were able to place my fears at ease, and provide me with dependable, competent movers. They arrived on time, ensured that my belongings were packed correctly. They were quick and reasonably priced.
